Game 8
A windy day and the last game of the season prompted the Thunder to take control early with a quick two strikes to put the team ahead by 2. The Hammer (Harris) came to finish the season strong by scoring a hat trick for the day before being retired to the half back position to let some of his teammates have a shot at the goal. Both Prateek and Trent played their first game in the goal and discovered that when their team played well there wasn't much to do back there! Trent did have an opportunity to come deep out of the goal to grab the ball and boot it to midfield to thwart an attempt by the Dragons to push the ball to the Thunder side of the field. The day ended with 17 shots on goal by 7 different players and scoring 7. What a way to finish the season!

Game 7
What a MUDFEST! PSA, normally extremely protective of the fields for obvious reasons, decided to go ahead with all games even with the fields soaked from the previous day's rain. After a whole day of action, the field was a merely a field of mud by Thunder game time.

The game started out in the first quarter with a one-two punch, first from the 'Hammer' (Harris) and then from the 'Juggernaut' (Ryder). The remainder of the game the Warriors attempted to launch an assault only to be foiled by the tenaciousness of the Thunder team.

The offense resulted in a total of 11 shots on goal from 'Hammer', 'Juggernaut', 'Boomer' (Matthew B.), Matthew M., Trent and Blake culminating in a 2-0 win for the Thunder.

The defense, Nicholas, Aubrie, Sanal, Prateek and Ben ensured that the Warriors would only be able to get one shot on goal that had a great save from 'Boomer' to secure the shut out!

Game 6
Just as they were last season, Plano United came to play a hard fought and very skilled game of soccer. In the first quarter, they caught Thunder on their heels where they spent most of the quarter chasing well handled, well placed passes all around the Thunder side of the field. Matthew M. made a last minute save in the quarter to keep the game at zero's but ignited the offense with a monster punt to the other end of the field! That was when 'The Hammer' (Harris) went back into action. After his world wide tour, he was back in support of team Thunder by leading the charge with the first of his two goals off of 5 shots! His ball handling and explosive kicks turned the tide for the team, putting them on the offensive for most of the rest of the game. With 'Jugernaut' (Ryder) periodically dropping back and playing more of a midfielder, he kept driving the ball forward into enemy territory, often playing the roll of spoiler and intercepter. Although he didn't score in today's game, he came away with two assists for the day, including one from a monster corner kick that Trent spun into the goal for the 3rd of 3 team goals on the day. Blake continued to show his matuirty as a player this season by hampering the other team's progress, stealing the ball and making some very well placed passes to his teammates. After today's performance, 'Boomer' (Matthew B.) may well have earned a permanent spot as midfielder. He stalked the midfield line like a hungry tiger waiting to pounce on anything within his territory and not once, but 3 times he launched the ball from midfield toward the goal missing just to either side! Ben moved up to the front line to try his feet as a forward. He always seemed to be near the ball foiling the United's efforts to progress into the Thunder backfield. The defense also stepped up their play, taking a more active role in the game. Nicholas, using not only his feet, but his body as well, kept turning the ball upfield to keep the heat off of his goalies. Sonal kept cruising the backfield and with his sheer speed covered ground to attack and push the ball up to the forwards giving them more opportunities at the goal. Kamyar, Henry and Aubrie contributed to the team's success as well, playing hard and ensuring the Plano United's advances were always turned back!
